"Cover Me" is a wall-to-wall, satisfying balance of eleven tracks brimming with melodic harmonies, which alternate between upbeat electric driven guitar, and wistful acoustic work. Blanketed in a joyful noise of the likes of 4Him and BoyzIIMen, the threesome skillfully borrows music cues from hip-hop, pop, and contemporary - but make no mistake about it- it's all propelled by praise.
This one's a keeper!
Take Me To The Cross strums with a yearning, unquenchable longing- a genuine hunger for the historical realities & teachings behind the pages of the Bible.
Serving up the ideal, " I'm searchin' for something to save me, but I'll feel better when I'm Blond & Tan." Punchy, Blonde & Tan, smashes superficial material possessions, while reminding us that good looks fade.
A similar sentiment shines through the Urban gimmicks of techy-beats in Be Like You. Sighting, "Tiger, McQuire, Gordon, Jordan, Gates" before proclaiming that, "You're my star," an obvious inference to Jesus.
Out Of This World twangs with a backwater, string-bending acoustic that yeilds, surprisingly well, to out of place Urban beats & horn loops on its refrain (appropo to the funk tune of Got To Get You Into My Life). "As we get into the word of Jesus, the word will come out of me, into the heart of the down & out" - those who need to hear the word.
